This series follows the Stewarts, a family who lends money to their relatives, only to be mocked and rejected when they ask for it back after a health crisis strikes. Through the eyes of Gavin Stewart, we witness the betrayals and schemes among his father's generation. Even among brothers, accounts are settled clearly—but Arthur Stewart's brothers not only settle accounts, they stab him in the back.
Arthur, the eldest son of the Stewart family, is kind-hearted and values family above all. After a sudden windfall from a demolition compensation, he generously shares his wealth. However, when he falls seriously ill, his ungrateful relatives kick him while he’s down, leading to his despair and death. Gavin witnesses the tragic loss of both parents and dies heartbroken, only to unexpectedly wake up reborn in the past, right before the demolition. Determined to change everything, Gavin convinces his father to fake bankruptcy, hoping to expose the true nature of their hypocritical relatives.
Just as Gavin predicted, upon learning of Arthur’s “bankruptcy,” the relatives reveal their true colors, belittling, pressuring, and humiliating the family. Later, Uncles Sean and Howard manipulate their biased mother to publicly shame Arthur, forcing him to apologize and hand over the property deed in despair. Only then does Arthur finally see his family for who they are.
