This film tells the story of a fatal mistake by the husband, Wade Lewis, who accidentally left his wife, Kate Lowe, inside a car on a scorching hot day, leading to her eventual death. The story begins with the male lead, Wade Lewis, taking his wife, Kate Lowe, to the hospital for a check-up. While there, he learns that his childhood friend, Laura Mills, has returned to the country with her grandson and is also at the same hospital. Seizing the opportunity under the pretext of visiting a client, he locks Kate inside the car. The summer noon temperature rises rapidly, and soon Kate realizes something is wrong. She tries to get out to find some shade, but the locked doors trap her inside. Her calls to Wade go unanswered. Left with no choice, she calls her daughter, Katie Lewis. Mid-call, Kate's phone battery dies. Upon learning her mother is in grave danger, Katie immediately calls to confront her father, demanding to know her mother's whereabouts. However, Wade, currently indulging in his newfound comfort with Laura, has no patience for what he perceives as an intentional disruption of their time together by his wife and daughter. He harshly scolds Katie and turns off his phone. Now, Wade is the only person who knows Kate's location, but he is with Laura, and Katie has no idea where they are.
