Love Can't Be Hired
Edward Brooks, a successful corporate executive, hires Alaina Murray at a generous salary to care for his mother, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. Unbeknownst to him, Alaina appears kind and devoted on the surface but secretly abuses his mother and conspires with her lover to seize the family's fortune. Although Mrs. Brooks repeatedly cries for help, her words are twisted and dismissed, and Edward initially trusts the caregiver.
Fortunately, Edward secretly uses a spare phone to record evidence of the abuse and drugging, ultimately exposing the truth and ruining Alaina's reputation. Consumed by hatred and revenge, Alaina later sneaks into the hospital, kidnaps Edward's mother, and demands a ransom. Edward sets out alone to rescue her, and at the critical moment, the police arrive and bring the criminals to justice.
After enduring these hardships, Edward comes to a painful realization: no caregiver, no matter how capable, can replace the love and companionship of family. He gives up a long-awaited promotion and chooses to return home, personally caring for his mother and sharing meals with her every day. As sunlight fills the living room and mother and son sit side by side, Edward finally understands that filial devotion cannot be outsourced, money cannot buy genuine love, and true protection is the greatest comfort parents can have in their later years.
